Hi there, guys. It’s Alexis, and in this video I’m going to be showing you how to create a Business Page, or what’s commonly known as a Fan Page. Now a Fan Page is a platform in which you, as a brand or a business, can communicate directly with your customers so you can share things like posts or stories. You could share photos, videos and you can have engagements such as polls, competitions and quizzes. So it’s a really good way of communicating directly with your customers and getting feedback. So in order to create one, there are a few different ways. The first way is to go to Facebook.com, and you’ll enter the “Sign Off” screen. You want to go down to the bottom where is says, “Create a page” just under the “Sign Up” button, and click “Create a page”. Now there are six different categories when creating a page. You’ve got your local business or place, company, organisation or institution, so things like universities. You’ve got a brand or product. Then you have artists, band, public figure and entertainment. Now entertainment can be things like magazine, songs and films. And then you have cause or community, and a cause or community page is basically a page that has several authors, or admins, and they contribute to a general topic and they’re able to share that information and update it. So you’ve got those six different options to create a Facebook Fan Page. Another way of creating a Fan Page is to go to maybe one of your favourite pages, so I’ll go to sort of Coca Cola at the top. And on there, there will be a little button, just below my name and that will say, “Create a page”. So I can create a page just from going to another page. So I’m signed into my account now. So let’s say I wanted to create a cause or community page, so I could have something there, maybe something along the lines of SEO Community, hit “Get Started” and it would ask me what I wanted to do, whether I want to upload an image and go through the various steps. I can just skip that for now. And there we go. There’s my actual page. Now I need to populate that exactly the same way as I would if it was a profile, or if it was a group, so I’d need to put an image. I would need to populate it with friends. I can import contacts and I can, obviously, create status updates as well. So that essentially how you create a page, and in principle it works exactly the same for every different type of Facebook page.
